My writings skills have evolved a great deal during this semester. I have learned various techniques in writing and styles over the course of the semester.
When the semester began, my goal was to acquire new things about writing each day so that by the time I graduate I will be more knowledgeable as a writer. Despite learning a variety of things during the semester, my writing skills still requires improvement. Throughout the semester I have mastered some aspects of writing. However, I still have weaknesses in other areas about writing. When the semester began, my strengths as a writer included great word selection, honesty, and creativity. Organized and logical progression was my major weakness in writing.
Back in the elementary school, I was never keen on learning how to develop an organized thoughtful piece of writing. The writing was not always my passion despite scoring good grades. I got a breakthrough in honing writing skills when I made an application to study in UW-STOUT and was required to study a compulsory English course. During the study of the course, I had to go through many articles and research journals to sharpen my reading and comprehension skills to write my research assignments. It is doing a variety of writing assignments that I developed the passion for writing. I have consistently been a creative thinker since elementary school, but throughout the semester I have polished my critical analysis abilities. Throughout the coursework this semester, I have learned to scrutinize as intensely as possible any situation before writing it down.
Through reading numerous novels, articles, and scholarly journals, I have been able to learn various writing styles and logical organization of the ideas. As a result, I have developed an extensive comprehension of written pieces of work.
