Forty-five minutes ago my cover was blown.
My partner and I have been under cover to break up a group of drug dealers who have been trafficking drugs and arms to criminals around the world. I had just gotten a meeting with the leader, Freis Larkin, as one of his new employees. I had just sat down in one the chairs by his desk when he pulled a gun and pointed it at my head.”I know who you are,” he sneered.”Well, I would hope so since you did just hire me.” Outside, I was calm and collected, but inside, I was panicking. This won’t end well.
“Do not play me as a fool. I know who you really are, Michael Knight.” I grimaced. Well, so much for that plan. I hope you’re still out there, pal. I could really use your help.”Alright.
So, since you know who I am, what do you plan on doing?””Simple. I’m going to kill you. Slowly. Painfully. But first, I want to know who you work for.”My partner warned me this particular scenario was likely to happen.
He was always the voice of reason.”Sorry. Can’t do that.
“”Then I guess I’ll just have to kill you now.” He put his finger on the trigger and was about to fire when there was a loud bang followed by shouting and gunshots.Startled, Larkin jumped up and looked around to where the noise was coming from. Taking advantage of the situation, I swiped the gun from his hand, hitting him upside the head with the butt of the firearm. He fell to the ground, unconscious.I put the pistol in the waistband of my pants as I sprinted in search of my partner.
I ran into the garage of the large hanger the criminal organization had taken refuge in. Looking around, I saw a large black beauty spinning and zig-zagging around, ammunition bouncing off its bulletproof hide.”KITT!” I yelled, running towards my partner.”Michael!” Kitt’s tires squealed as he turned in my direction. He opened his pilot door as I grew closer. I jumped into his cabin and patted his dashboard, aware he could feel it.
“Thanks, pal. I thought I was a goner there.””Michael, really?” Kitt drawled, “When have I ever left you to your own devices?””Never, but you did cut it kinda close there, didn’t ya?”I could hear the sarcastic/offensive tone in the AI’s voice. “For your information, I did the calculations of my arrival to aid in your survival. All I do for you and all you can do is point out my flaws.
“”Okay, okay. I’m sorry. I really am but can we talk about this later?” I asked, glancing out the windshield, “We’ve got company.”
