1. Teachers socialising while children play outside, not being fully watched, could cause sudden incidents occurring, with no awareness.2. Children left unattended are at risk of hurting themselves, for example falling over a chair or using objects they are not entitled to.
3. Unlocked safety gates/doors can encourage the children to step out of the nursery premises and that will lead to further danger.Teachers socialising while children play outside, not being fully watched, could cause sudden incidents occurring, with no awareness.
This could raise risks to the children; also put the teachers in danger as they are not doing their job correctly.Children left unattended are at risk of hurting themselves, for example falling over a chair or using objects they are not entitled to. The children in the nursery will pick up a object e.g. a knife or scissor from the kitchen, or putting glue in their mouth because they are not watched to be told that’s wrong, so they have that advantage, allegedly causing harm to themselves and others around.Unlocked safety gates/doors can encourage the children to step out of the nursery premises and that will lead to further danger.
Having doors fully unlocked that lead to the public streets, will encourage the children to step out there because it’s not locked as it should be, this could lead to further danger and a risk to their lives, they could get knocked over by a car if there’s busy roads, or even abduction.Running around with scissors, accidently causing harm to another child or even staff worker. The children running around with scissors, could lead to severe injuries to other kids or even staff workers, they’ll think it’s a game and its fun if they’re not told otherwise.Wet surfaces/floors that occur in the nursery could be a hazard, children slipping and breaking their legs etc. If the cleaners or even staff workers doesn’t make sure the floors or always dry, or equipment outside is damp, this could cause injuries to their legs, because the nursery floors will be slippery especially if the shoes they’re wearing isn’t that stable.Open wide windows that children can climb up to and fall out of.
If the windows are wide open at a steep height distance, and there’s not staff workers surrounded that area, small chairs nearby could encourage the children to climb up on the chair and climb onto the window seal and accidently fall out, as they’re little and will not know the difference in height.6.Unstable stairway hand rails on both sides of the stairway.1.
Having chairs without armrest or low backs/ unstable chairs or tables.5.Lifts in the care homes not working.4.As a worker, with no support having to pick up the elderly people from their wheelchairs to place them elsewhere, could cause back injuries.
3.Falling out of bed, if there’s no safety bars inputted.2.Unlocked safety doors, the ones with dementia could possibly wander the streets.Having chairs without armrest or low backs/ unstable chairs or tables. This could raise risks to the elderly people in the care homes backs, also they won’t be comfortable, given the fact that they are old and need to be upright rather than their backs bent over.
Unstable chairs or tables can cause accidents.Unlocked safety doors, the ones with dementia could possibly wander the streets. Elderly people with dementia, suffer from loss of memory, mood changes, and problems with communication& reasoning, with the safety doors being unlocked, if gives them the opportunity to wander about without being fully capable of what they’re doing.Falling out of bed, if there’s no safety bars inputted. With no safety bars on the bed to prevent them from falling, it could cause serious injuries to the old people; they are already vulnerable people, which would raise a higher risk, if the environment isn’t stable. As a worker, with no support having to pick up the elderly people from their wheelchairs to place them elsewhere, could cause back injuries. The old people could be potentially heavy, or they could resist a little while being carried, which will be the support worker/carer’s health in danger.
Lifts in the care homes not working. This will cause risks because stairs will have to be used instead, which would be much harder for those in wheelchairs.
