Daisy’s and Gatsby’s feelings for each other are definitely different. At the beginning of the story, you find out about this girl named Daisy who is madly in love with an unnamed guy. This guy that Daisy loves so much tells her he going to war, of course daisy doesnt like the idea of him going to war but she faces the reality that she has to accept it. She writes him and he writes her. Somehow this man find out Daisy is in love with someone else and plans to marry him. Skip forward a little bit and we meet Daisy’s cousin Nick Carraway.
Nick moves into West Egg in a little shack next to a big mansion home to James Gatsby. Gatsby and Nick become pals and as they were talking, he finds out that Daisy is Nick’s cousin, We also find out that the mysterious guy daisy was in love with at the beginning of the story in none other than Gatsby himself. After Gatsby got out of the war he tracked down Daisy and thought to himself and came to the conclusion that he were to get rich and buy a big mansion, Daisy would take him back, essentially buying her love. Gatsby became a bootlegger and a gambler and became a millionaire in a very short amount of time.
Living across the bay is Daisy and her fiance. While Nick and Gatsby are talking, Gatsby is told by Nick that Daisy is his cousin. In that single moment his heart melted and he became so happy because he thought this was the breakthrough he needed. He would have Nick as a way to connect with daisy because he didn’t know how to go about getting in touch with her, even though she is right across the bay. Gatsby tells Nick all about him and Daisy and how things used to be and that he still loves Daisy.
Nick is excited for Gatsby and decides that he will help out by inviting Daisy over to his little shack for tea, have Gatsby there, but not tell Daisy about Gatsby so she wouldn’t freak out. So that day comes Gatsby has had somebody clean up Nicks yard and waits patiently in Nick’s shack. Daisy get…
