Most people never really have the guts to do what they want to do.
Maybe it’s the reason that they have the time to think of all the consequences. They have time to make a decision, but that’s not what happened in the story “A&P.” The main character Sammy works in a grocery store and clearly does not like working there. By the end of the story Sammy quits his job. There are different theories as to why he quit the A&P. Sammy quit his job because he was bored, he did not like his boss, and because he thought he was too good to be working at a place like the A&P.

This shows that since the store is almost always empty it leaves him with nothing to do and let’s face it – being bored all the time, especially at work, isn’t fun. It is however going to make you think of other things you could be doing instead like hanging out with friends or family, at another job, or whatever else that could pop into your head. Unless you’re Sammy, then you could just compare your work place to pinball machine and make the ..
